Let’s help send our youth to the National Youth Gathering in Houston this July!

Join us before the service this Sunday, April 17 for our annual Easter breakfast. Starting at 9:00, our youth will be serving a breakfast of eggs, bacon, cinnamon rolls, and fruit. No tickets are required, but your generous donations are appreciated as they raise funds for their trip to the National Youth Gathering. We’re thankful to Thrivent Financial for a community action grant to help with the costs of the breakfast.

Consider making a donation via  our envelope wall fundraiser!  We would love to have every envelope filled by Easter Sunday  (empty envelope wall on the day we celebrate the empty tomb!) Simply choose an envelope and give the corresponding amount (in dollars $$$) marked on the envelope. Fill your envelope and drop in the box! There are literally a hundred ways to give. No donation is too small! Questions? Contact Jen Axt by email: jen.axt@gmail.com or phone: (308) 631-7065.  Thank you for supporting our youth!

Let the youth egg your house! Back by popular demand!  Easter is ONLY 3 weeks away.  Send some Easter love to friends, family, grandchildren, neighbors, children whose house we can “egg.”  You will find candy filled eggs in your yard Easter morning! We will leave a personalized message on the door.  Proceeds will help send The Rock Youth to the LCMS National Youth Gathering in July!

On the evening of April 16, 2022, our stealthy youth will come to your home (or the home of a friend/family/neighbor) and hide 12 Easter eggs in the yard. There will be 11 candy-filled eggs and 1 empty egg as a reminder of the empty tomb! $15 per dozen eggs, $25 for 2 dozen, $35 for 3 dozen, $45 for 4 dozen, $55 for 5 dozen.

Please contact Jen Axt (308) 631-7065 by text/phone or by email: jen.axt@gmail.com with questions. We accept payment by cash, check, or Venmo (@Jen-Axt) by April 15, 2021. Fill in your order at this link.

Men’s breakfasts are back from now until April 16. Breakfast starts at 7:00 a.m. in the Rock Cafe, and the study will be about aligning our priorities with God’s Word.

Moms and Muffins: Monday mornings in April from 9-10:30 a.m. in the Rocker Room (on the third floor). Join the group for coffee, muffins, and conversation. Children are welcome! (April 18 and 25)

Join us for a Spring Clean Up on April 30 from 10-2! We ask people to bring their own cleaning supplies (vacuums, towels, sprays, garden tools) so we can tidy up the facility. We’ll pay special attention to the Rocker Room and the Stepping Stones classrooms. Students in need of community service hours, come help!

Our April item for the Blue Valley food pantry is paper towels. The collection box is in the Rock Cafe. Thanks for being a blessing to the community in this way! You can see our Blue Valley Pantry item schedule on our website

Blue Valley is also currently in need of boxed meals, pasta, and instant potato items.

Did you forget your donation items last week? You can still bring them this Sunday! Concordia University’s Guatemala Health and Medical Mission Team is collecting hygiene supplies to take on their March trip. They will be traveling to the same area that The Rock’s mission team worked at in Amatitlan, Guatemala. They will be hosting a health fair in two different villages where they will teach the villagers about a variety of health topics including dental hygiene, hand washing, parasite prevention, nutrition, and spiritual health. They need: bars of soap, new hand towels, toothbrushes, toothpaste.  If you are able to purchase needed items or have any of these products laying around your house that you won’t use (perhaps you bought the wrong brand of something and won’t use it OR the toothbrush your dentist gave you isn’t the type you prefer OR you are an extreme couponer and have a stockpile in your basement OR you collect hotel soap), they’ll take it!!

The Guatemala Mission team will be hosting a taco & nacho bar meal before our Ash Wednesday service. Join us starting at 5:30 for dinner (free will offering will be collected for the mission team) before the service starts at 6:30.

Instead of dropping off your children for Stepping Stones and FaithInk, please join them and attend the family friendly Ash Wednesday service (with the imposition of ashes) that evening. No childcare provided.

We haven’t needed to deal with snow much this winter, but we’re always looking for service-minded humans who are willing to use our new snow blower.  We have a new, powerful snow blower to clear sidewalks this winter (as well as a smaller unit)!  We are in need of volunteers to serve on a side-walk clearing crew.  Weekend (for Sundays) and week-day slots are open.  Even if you can only help on occasion, please contact danna.seevers@gmail.com to discuss how you can help.

Please continue to pray for Pastor Mike Meyer and his family as they seek God’s will for their lives after receiving a call to a congregation in Okeechobee, FL. Pray that God’s will for them will be made abundantly clear to the whole family, and that they would know God’s peace while they make their decision.

Join us tomorrow (February 13) for another Forever Family meal as we gather for our annual Souper Sunday lunch. Please bring a soup and a dessert to share. We’ll provide bowls, spoons, etc., along with lots of extension cords for your roasters and slow cookers. We’ll have some serving spoons, but if you have a ladle you can bring, that would be helpful. If you’re not able to bring something to share, please still plan to join us!

Thank you to all who have donated to our Building Fund,  which helps us with our facility and grounds-related maintenance and improvements.  We met our goal of $15,000 to restore it to previous levels.  You can give to this fund at any time in the offering basket on Sundays, or give online in our Special Projects category. (Indicate “building fund” to designate your gift.)

New snow blower in search of service-minded humans:  We have a new, powerful snow blower to clear sidewalks this winter (as well as a smaller unit)!  We are in need of volunteers to serve on a side-walk clearing crew.  Weekend (for Sundays) and week-day slots are open.  Even if you can only help on occasion, please contact danna.seevers@gmail.com to discuss how you can help.

Please consider helping send The Rock Youth to the 2022 LCMS National Youth Gathering in Houston, TX! The Rock Youth is holding an envelope donation fundraiser to help send the youth and adult leaders to the LCMSNYG in Houston next summer! Simply choose an envelope and give the corresponding amount (in dollars $$$) marked on the envelope. Fill your envelope and drop in the box! There are literally a hundred ways to give. No donation is too small!

Thank you for considering a financial gift during this holiday season, especially in a time when it is increasingly challenging to be a teenager who follows Jesus. Questions? Contact Jen Axt by email: jen.axt@gmail.com or phone: 308.631.7065

As he shared in Sunday’s service, Pastor Mike has a Divine Call from another congregation. What does this mean and how can we pray for him and his family?

Pray that God’s will for them will be made abundantly clear to the whole family, and that they would know God’s peace while they make their decision. Pastor Mike and his family are traveling to Okeechobee, FL for an official visit to Peace Lutheran Church & School this weekend. Dr. Thad Warren will lead the message time during worship this weekend at The ROCK.

Watch his announcement here.

Have you used the GivePlus app to make donations to The Rock? If so, please note that as of the end of January, that app will no longer function. Watch for more information this Sunday.

Replenishing the Building Fund: This year, The Rock has invested over $28,000 on facility-related initiatives for maintenance and improvements, including the Blue Valley partnership building renovation and needed enhancements to the facility and grounds.  The Rock’s building fund needs a boost of $15,000 to restore it to previous levels and fund 2021-22 initiatives.  If you are in a position to make an additional gift to the Building Fund, large or small, it will bless The Rock’s ministry. We’ve already been blessed to receive $12,1445 toward our goal! Thank you.

You can give to this fund in the offering basket on Sundays, or give online in our Special Projects category. (Indicate “building fund” to designate your gift.)
