Volunteers are needed this Saturday and Sunday for some renovation work at The Rock, on Saturday, October 28 from 10-12, and Sunday, October 29 from noon-2. Our young adults group is leading Trunk or Treat on Tuesday, October 31 from 6:30-8:30. Bring your kids and grandkids, invite your neighbors, or host a trunk yourself! Contact Brevin and Michaela Sloup if you want to host a trunk. You can also bring donations of wrapped candy and leave them in the cafe to help us be generous with the community.
Help us get the word out to the community about Trunk or Treat. Click here for a folder of images about the event you can share with your own Facebook or Instagram friends.
A young adults group is meeting on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. at Brevin and Michaela Sloup’s house! (1616 Eastridge Ave) Contact them for more information.
A four week men’s Bible study “Working for the Man Upstairs” will be held on Saturdays starting October 28 at 7:00 a.m. in the Rock cafe. Contact Randy Newsome with any questions.
Help with the November Food Shelf Challenge! On Friday, November 10 from 11am-2pm Concordia students will be out and about in the Seward community collecting nonperishable food shelf donations. This service project is one of many happening that day as part of the annual Beautiful Feet Mission Conference taking place at Concordia University, Nebraska that weekend.
If you live in Seward and you’d like to contribute food items, please put any donations tied up in a plastic bag and leave on your front steps. Items collected will be distributed between St. John’s Christ Cupboard and Concordia’s Help Your Shelf.
By collecting 500 items in this November Food Shelf Challenge, Concordia will receive $500 (from the Thrivent Member Network – Nebraska Region) for Concordia’s Help Your Shelf food shelf on campus. If you have any questions or if students miss picking up your contribution, please contact Julie Hermann at [email protected] or 402-643-7354. Thank you for helping provide for those with food insecurity in our community!
Join us for a special time of prayer on Sunday, November 19, praying for the call process, our future pastor, and The Rock during the vacancy period. We’ll gather in room 211 (near the stairs) from 9:15-9:50. All are welcome!
If you have questions about the call process, you can ask Ross Briggs, Lori Bruns, Emma Dannehl, Jake Eckles, Marcus Gubanyi, Tim Moll, Matt Myers, Brenda Rief, Andrea Sloup, and our circuit visitor, Rev. David Palomaki. Please pray for them and for our vacancy pastor, Rev. David Loeschen.
