Happening at The Rock
Stay after the service this Sunday for a potluck lunch. Please bring both a main dish and either a side dish or dessert to share. (If you can’t bring something this time, we still want you to stay!) We will provide table service and drinks.
Our young adults group is leading Trunk or Treat on Tuesday, October 31 from 6:30-8:30. Bring your kids and grandkids, invite your neighbors, or host a trunk yourself! Contact Brevin and Michaela Sloup if you want to host a trunk. You can also bring donations of wrapped candy and leave them in the cafe to help us be generous with the community.
Help us get the word out to the community about Trunk or Treat. Click here for a folder of images about the event you can share with your own Facebook or Instagram friends.
A young adults group is meeting on Monday evenings at 7 p.m. at Brevin and Michaela Sloup’s house. (1616 Eastridge Ave) Contact them for more information.
A four week men’s Bible study “Working for the Man Upstairs” will be held on Saturdays starting October 28 at 7:00 a.m. in the Rock cafe. Contact Randy Newsome with any questions.
Faith Partners Comprehensive Training: The Rock has the opportunity to bring in Faith Partners to host a FREE 2-day training to help our congregation develop a team ministry for alcohol/drug and mental health issues by building a system based on our congregation’s strengths and theology. This training is for everyone who wants their congregation to play its own important role in these issues. Check out their website https://www.faith-partners.org/ At this point, we are just gauging interest on whether to host the training. If you would be interested in attending this training, please email [email protected].
Our Taste & See community event planned for Saturday, October 14 has been canceled. Instead, we’ll gather after the service on Sunday, October 15 for a potluck lunch. Please bring a main dish and either a side or dessert to share. We’ll provide drinks, plates, and cutlery.
October is church worker appreciation month! All church workers need prayer. Pray for them and their families and let them know you are doing so. Also please pray to the Lord of the harvest for those future church workers whom God will raise up to fill these sacred and joyful roles in His Kingdom.
Whether they serve as a pastor, director of Christian Education (DCE), deaconess, music director or educator, each and every church worker helps proclaim the Good News! Think about all of the workers who have served you and your family over the years and consider reaching out to them to thank them for their dedication.
